New Sports Flying Activity to Operate in Palawan
Soar high in the air and witness the mountainous view of Coron Island as Palawan Ultralight Flying Club (PUFC) lets you experience a unique recreational activity of a lifetime through aircraft flying.
PUFC founding president Capt. Eric Tan said that they are a flying club established in 2018.
“Our objective here or purpose is to promote sports and recreational flying here in the Philippines through a flying club,” Tan said in an interview.
PUFC uses an (ultralight Quicksilver Sport2S) open cockpit type of aircraft with no enclosed glass or plastic providing its passenger a better view in the sky.
“Our highlight here is that we let them experience pure flying. There is no glass, no plastic around the top in our aircraft,” Tan stressed.
“Passengers will feel the wind and witness lakes and other famous destinations in Coron Island,” he added.
He also assured that safety will also be prioritized as they will only fly in good weather and wind condition between sunrise 5:45am to sunset 6:15pm.
Moreover, Tan revealed that the country is facing a growing demand of Filipino sport flying and recreational pilots. He mentioned that aspiring pilots may contribute to these demand by enjoining themselves in the sports.
“If the trainee can’t make it in the airline or CPL (Commercial Pilot License), they can go to sport flying with PPL (Private Pilot License) and earn something around Php1,000 per hour of flight,” Tan explained.
The founding president is looking forward to fully operate PUFC in the next few months or hopefully around April.
Tan is a product of OMNI Aviation Training School that helped him in his skills and knowledge in the airline industry.
“I was trained in OMNI so I could have a PPL (Private Pilot License). Unfortunately, I didn’t finish the training. I just finished the ground training and learned many things,” he explained.
Tan is inviting the public including locals and tourists to experience the fulfilling flight feelings of being a pilot thru their TIF (Trial Introductory Flight).
PUFC is located at Pali Airpark (Sitio Pali) Poblacion 6, Coron Palawan before CCFT compound along Balisungan road going to Kabu Beach.
