ICYMI: CAAP APPROVES REOPENING OF OMNI SKILL TEST FACILITY

As of 16 November 2020, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has officially approved the reactivation of the Skill Test Facility (STF) under OMNI Aviation’s Maintenance Training Center and renewal of authorization for OMNI’s Designated Maintenance Examiners (DME). This pronouncement comes at the heels of CAAP’s stellar reviews for OMNI’s New Normal procedures and facilities.
In the official renewal document released by CAAP, Capt. Donaldo Mendoza, Deputy Director General for Operations, said:
“Incidentally, because of the high level of compliance to health protocols and mitigation process, OMNI STF and its DMEs are given permission to resume the actual skill testing during the validity of the certificates.”
The renewal is most beneficial for aircraft mechanics and maintenance personnel as it provides a safe and convenient alternative to taking the exam at the CAAP main facilities. This was conferred following the accreditation and audit conducted on October 29 and 30, 2020 by CAAP Inspectors Engr. Daniel Hallarre and Mr. Edwardo Ebasco, both of whom also waxed lyrical about OMNI’s safety procedures and standards.
