Aircraft pilots, navigators, and flight engineers are this year’s highest-paying jobs in the country.
In the recent report from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the three airline careers emerged as the top on the list of their top 10 highest-paying jobs for 2019.
Based on the Occupational Wages Survey by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the aforementioned careers have an average salary of Php116,714 monthly.
The main job of these people is to navigate the aircraft in order to transport passengers, mail, and freight goods from one point to another. Their responsibilities include performing pre-flight and in-flight tasks; flying and navigating the aircraft; preparing and submitting flight plan; and controlling the operation of the aircraft equipment.
Educational requirements are those graduates of Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics, Aeronautical Engineering, Air Transportation, and Aircraft Maintenance Technology or have acquired trainings relevant to the aviation careers.
Among the rest of the top ten highest paid in the country are those in securities and finance; civil engineers; actuaries; computer programmers; system analysts and designers; computer engineers; accountants and auditors; production supervisors and foremen; and statisticians.
