OMNI Airline Training Academy and Far Eastern University (FEU) MOA signing for the online Alternative Internship Program
Treading through the new normal is still a challenge for most. A year into the pandemic has changed the way everyday things are done, what used to be routinary and basic has become unchartered territory. Nevertheless, ingenuity always wins the day. This has never been more evident in the education front. The shift from face-to-face, classroom based classes to the new normal of online classes is a major change not only to students but also to learning institutions. Thus, from countless hours of formulating, it is with great pride that OMNI Airline Academy, and the Far Eastern University (FEU) are officially becoming partners in an innovative online program for Tourism students – the Alternative Internship Program.
The Alternative Internship Program is a selection of aviation and tourism focused learning programs designed to fit international airline standards. The training programs include Travel Consulting, Airport Ground Handling and Flight Attendant Training. These courses can be taken separately, but for enthusiasts wanting to get the full experience, all these courses can be taken through the Aviation Professional Training Program. The main benefit from taking these courses is that they are especially made in lieu of the usual On-The-Job (OJT) training requirements. As a result, training hours can be converted to OJT hours. As the current conditions require and to keep up with safety standards, the Alternative Internship Program classes will be conducted online via Zoom, but unlike most online classes, these programs are not only theory based modules but are also planned out to be more interactive and engaging.
Presently, as far as learning and training goes, the partnership between OMNI and FEU is set to elevate Tourism students in this very uncertain period. The pandemic and resulting community quarantines are not going to get in the way of tourism students getting top tier education and aviation training. With the partnership of two leading institutions of quality education and training, the enthusiasm in travel, tourism and aviation will hopefully be reignite.
